The goal of this campaign was to bring a dose of glamour to TIFF’s annual mini-festival showcasing the best Canadian films of the year. Another former designer on the team developed the beautiful faceted maple leaf logo, and I designed the campaign with the art direction of the team’s Creative Director.
The lush, spotlit red curtains shout “film” without having to rely too heavily on traditional film graphics (film reels, sprockets, red carpets etc.). The headlines (some funny, some more straightforward) are set in a delicate Didot and convey the importance of the festival.
Since the marketing budget for this programme was small, the resources were focused on site-branding and a printed guide. We created two versions of this brochure: one for the Toronto dates with a screening schedule (shown), and one for the touring programme which brings these films to movie theatres across Canada.
